About SASGB
Saviour Association of School Governing Bodies(SASGB) is a well-recognised and accepted association of school governing bodies within South Africa. The association is established to improve school governing body (SGB) capacity for governance and accountability. In addition, we work with all stakeholders to improve on the quality of education for our learners, while empowering and equipping our members to maintain high level of accountability and responsibility supporting the implementation of processes and procedures as directed by South African Schools Act (SASA).
Registration
The name of the association is Saviour Association of School Governing Bodies SASGB, an NPO bearing the registration no 160-916 NPO, registered in terms of the South African Laws on 28 October 2015. This name shall be used in every correspondence concerning day to day
running of the SGB.
Major Cases
Interference of department officials in appointment; Unlawful use of norms and standards funds – school, circuits and districts; and Lack of commitment to delivery on infrastructure promises.

SASGB Objectives
- Extend our blueprint nationally.
- To promote quality learning and teaching for all the children, school governing body officials, and teachers in South African public schools.
- To eradicate poverty in South African public schools.
- To assist the National Department of Basic Education, South African Police Services and National 7 Prosecuting Authority in prosecuting crime within schools.
